Whimsical Pastel Wedding at Serra Plaza

Elaine and Thomas met at Mission San Juan Capistrano for their first look on the afternoon of their wedding day. A tap on the shoulder turned Thomas around to see his beautiful bride standing before him with a smile on her face. Emotion immediately overcame the couple and Thomas shed happy tears as the two embraced. After the intimate moment, Elaine and Thomas joined their bridesmaids and groomsmen for group pictures against the historic backdrop. The bridesmaids were dressed in blue, and the groomsmen were suited up in navy. Everyone smiled for the camera and took turns posing with Elaine and Thomas, then headed to Serra Plaza for the ceremony.

Guests signed Thomas and Elaine’s guest book and found their seats inside the Courtyard. Fresh arrangements lined the aisle and matching florals decorated the Spanish fountain as the ceremony backdrop. Once everyone was in attendance, the wedding party made their entrances. Together at the front of the aisle, Thomas and Elaine recited vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss as friends and family cheered from the sidelines.

Cocktail hour coincided with the newlywed’s tea ceremony. Guests were free to watch the ceremony or grab a drink and relax on the patio. Tray passed Roasted Red Cherry Tomato Bruschetta, Crab Cakes, and Sesame Shrimp and Mango Spring Rolls made their rounds while the bar served up Cosmo and Old Fashioned signature drinks. After the tea ceremony concluded, it was time for reception.

Back in the Courtyard, tables were topped with pastel florals, champagne crinkle taffeta napkins, and printed menus. Once everyone was seated, the newlyweds made their grand entrance and thanked their guests for joining them for their wedding. Tables were excused to fill their plates with Tri-Tip Carvery, Santorini Chicken, Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano, Almond Rice Pilaf, Grilled Marinated Vegetables, and Pear and Walnut Salad for dinner. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Brittany. While everyone enjoyed dinner, Thomas sang a special song for Elaine, the bride and groom shared their first dance, and family and friends stood for toasts. After dinner, the newlyweds cut into their wedding cake and invited their guests to indulge in a slice before hitting the dance floor. The evening ended with tons of photos taken in the photo booth, lots of dancing, and many shared well wishes for Elaine and Thomas.
