John & Lisa, Laguna Beach Backyard Wedding

With the alluring, sandy strands of Southern California, it’s hard not to have a wedding close to the beach. For John + Lisa, there was no question when embracing this beautiful backdrop for their memorable day. With the details in the good hands of our Event Specialist, Brandon Harris, the couple was able to stay calm and enjoy every aspect of their wedding celebration.2 Their story is one where the worlds of a surfer and a cowgirl collide. John is no stranger to the beach scene as a Native Californian, while Lisa hails from Texas. The bride looked perfectly fitting for the beach in her elegant floor-length gown and loosely pinned hair. She included a touch of Texas in her bridal party with her bridesmaids wearing cowboy boots and bracelets in the shape of The Lone Star State. John changed up the traditional groom’s look by wearing a heather grey suit with an energetic pink tie. Together they made a very attractive duo with their own personality shining through.3 4 5 The ceremony took place on a wooden deck with unobstructed views of the beach below. The weather that day was perfect and gave the entire ceremony an illuminating radiance. Family and friends watched as the couple recited their vows and said their ‘I dos’. 6 7 The laid back beach theme easily flowed right into the reception. With surfboard and sailboat accents, the celebration was ready to kick into full swing. 8 9 Many clinks and cheers echoed throughout cocktail hour where we passed around some of our delicious hors d’oeuvres. The trays were filled with Fig, Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Tarts, Mini Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington, and Coconut Crusted Shrimp.10 11 Excitement stirred when our Tuscan Bruschetta Bar was spread out for guests to create their own custom toasts. The bar included Spring Pea Hummus, Saffron Tomato & Roasted Peach Confit, Caramelized Maui Onions with Roasted Garlic, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms, and Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes with Asparagus. 13 After everyone had time to mingle, they all found their seats and got ready for more toasts and the main course. We served up a large helping of Paella and a tasty selection of Sliders. 14 The happy newlyweds took time saying hello to all of their loved ones and then it was time for cake. The wedding cake was a lovely Ruffled Buttercream texture with White Cake and Vanilla Bavarian Filling. 15 16 For those who wanted something different than cake, we had a dessert station that featured Passion Fruit Mango Dessert Shots, Mini Coconut and Chocolate Delight Cupcakes, Chocolate Dipped Cheesecake Bites, and Fresh Fruit Tarts. It was a display ready to take on any sweet tooth. 17 Congratulations to the newlyweds, John + Lisa, and thank you to Studio EMP Photography for sharing all of these wonderful photos with us. Kim + Scott, The Casino San Clemente

The best atmosphere for a couple’s special day calls for a location that is versatile, welcoming, and beautiful. With the help of our Event Specialist April Chaim, newlyweds Kim + Scott found just that and more at The Casino San Clemente. Love was in the air on their wedding day, spreading a contagious amount of joy to all of their guests. 2 Kim looked stunning in a classic gown that gathered in the front with perfectly tailored drape in the back. The bride also wore a jeweled hairpiece and a delicate necklace that added a subtle sparkle to her already glowing complexion. Scott's outfit complimented her lovely attire with a handsome, navy suit paired with a classic boutonniere. Family and friends gathered in the outdoor Rock Garden for the ceremony. With strands of lights hanging above, Kim + Scott said their ‘I do’s’. 3 4 After the ceremony, Cocktail Hour was held on the Patio of the Stars accompanied by tray passed hor d’oeuvres. The wedding attendees enjoyed a wide range of Jay’s delicious appetizers including Mini Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington, Chicken Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts, California Rolls, Beef Empanadas, Spinach & Feta Spanikopitas, and Chicken Stuffed Mushrooms. 5 Moving into the Ballroom for the reception, tables were adorned with charming centerpieces that featured garden boxes, vintage books, succulents, and lavender. Guests were also greeted by a single succulent placed in front of their seats to be taken home as memory of the day. Under the magical lights of the Ballroom, Kim + Scott were celebrated with toasts and dancing. Jay’s provided a Soft Bar that offered Imported & Domestic Beer, Wine, Sodas, and Bottled Waters. 6 The party kept going as we set up a buffet style dinner for the couple and their guests. Jay’s prepared an array of dishes to give each individual plenty of options. The buffet included Zucchini Lime Chicken, Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano, Steamed Seasonal Vegetables, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Filet Mignon Carvery. A children’s menu was also available consisting of the childhood necessities, Chicken Breast Tenders and Macaroni & Cheese. Once everyone was finished dining on the main course, all attention shifted to watch Kim + Scott cut the cake. 7A little later, Jay’s brought out a selection of Late Night Snack items to top off the festivities. The snack table had a variety of Palm Sandwiches, Relish & Cheese Trays, Layered Bean Dips with Tortilla Chips, Hummus Trios, Baked Artichoke Dip, and Chicken Flautas.8 What an honor it was to be a part of this incredible day. We would like to say congratulations to Kim + Scott and thank you to Lost & Found Photography for the wonderful photos. We can’t wait until our next celebration at The Casino San Clemente!

Mod & Dreamy: A Styled Shoot With Sposto Photography

As summer nears, wedding season is already underway. We love all of the celebrations that we have the opportunity to cater and all the beautiful memories we get to witness during this time. To exhibit our excitement, Jay’s collaborated with a group of talented vendors to showcase each of our specialties in a wedding inspiration photo shoot. We were lucky to have Sposto Photography behind the lens to capture the stunning details in every piece. To make sure everything came together, Green Apple Event Co. did an amazing job coordinating and styling the shoot.

With its brick walls and hardwood floors, HOWL in Long Beach was the perfect setting for this shoot. The venue easily entertained the modern romantic theme and was the perfect backdrop for the occasion. To add to the ambiance, Modi Event Supply supplied the rentals including lively patterned couches and chairs that filled the empty areas with colorful accents.

For the shoot we had the pleasure of working with two gorgeous models that wore delicate gowns provided by Le Femme Fashion. The first gown, worn by one of Uncvrd Jewelry’s radiant models, defined the word elegance with its sheer layers and thick bottom trim. A fragile stone necklace amplified this look to make it even more breathtaking.

The second model, Lyndzi Shaheen , who was photographed with Kevin Fogg, showed off a gown with incredible beadwork and a gracefully draped skirt. Their looks would not have been complete without hair and makeup styling by Empale Uipi of Face It Sugar that had the women looking absolutely stunning.

The entire shoot was paired with exotic florals arranged by Sweet Sage Events. The earth-toned bases of greenery and white flowers were complimented by vivid pops of red. Succulents were dispersed throughout all of the pieces and around the space as a whole to give the entire area some extra flare.

A magnificent air plant was the focal point of the two-tiered cake we contributed. Two red roses were also placed atop to form a cake topper. The simple, perfectly smooth cake paired with the natural beauty & colors of the plants created an aesthetically pleasing addition to the scene.

Rainbow Juice embellished a charming bar table with a display of their drinks. It was complete with cocktail ingredients and barware. Each featured drink was vibrant and a great blend for the gathering.

And as no party is complete without an invitation, Luminous Lines lived up to their name and provided unique invitations with lovely calligraphy work.

We can’t get over how much fun we had on this shoot. A special thank you to Sposto Photography for snapping all of these inspiring photographs and to Image Machine for the video. We loved all of the creative details that went into this shoot and we can’t wait for another collaboration to come our way.

Renovation Progress: The Estate on Second

Last fall, we decided to purchase a gorgeous, historic building in downtown Santa Ana with the intent of opening our own exclusive venue. With the most ideal bare bones a structure could have, this location was everything we could hope for in an event space. Even still, we knew it was going to take a lot of hard work, time, and thoughtful design to create a venue that lives up to its grand name: The Estate on Second. 23 We wanted to create an elegant and glamorous space that remained true to its colonial roots. So we planned to maintain the integrity and spirit of this rich building, while updating the features that had undergone much wear over the years. We’ve since painted the stunning exposed beam ceiling a crisp white to lighten up the room, and wrapped the columns in a more sophisticated style with molding and bead board accents. In addition, we’ve spruced up the grand staircases with new railings, made a nesting DJ platform that overlooks the main space, and built a sweet bridal suite. 45 After months of construction and structural renovations, we are thrilled that we are still on schedule to open our doors summer of 2015. In fact, our very first wedding at The Estate will be taking place this July.6 Although we have much more to accomplish, the most exciting part is just underway. Now comes the décor and furniture. We want to cultivate a tasteful environment that is the perfect mixture of luxurious and modern elements. Many of our prints and styles are inspired by the Victorian period, which was characterized by classy decor and a stunning sophistication. 7 The main hall, known as The Crystal Room, will feature spectacular crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Some walls will be covered in a textured damask print, while the floors will be dressed in reclaimed wood and an unconventional, patterned tile. Our bar, an essential to any event space, is taking shape and we’ve also purchased a gorgeous, velvet-tufted chaise as a statement furniture piece. 8 As for the patio, aptly named The Veranda, construction has begun. This lovely outdoor space will include real gas lanterns, a fire pit for guests to keep warm outsides, and a serene water feature. 910 We absolutely love how all of the designs, renovations, and details are coming together at The Estate. Stay tuned for more updates; we can’t wait to invite you into our home.

A Space for Collaboration

With the grand opening of our new venue-The Estate on Second- just around the corner, we are excited that so many vendors are showing interest in our space. We love getting to collaborate with other businesses to make our events the best that they can be. Recently, we’ve been hearing a lot from photographers who want to use The Estate in their work.23 One talented woman in particular is Lani Ohye. She loves her craft because she is moved by the moments that photography captures and enjoys the candid shots that save a piece of time from getting lost forever. Lani recently visited The Estate on Second and shared some of her best shots with us.45 A special thanks goes out to Lani Ohye Photography for the beautiful photographs. She is just one example of the creative and inspiring people that we get to work with day to day. Once The Estate on Second is ready to open its doors, we will be sharing many more pictures of the memories that take place inside. We can’t wait to work with Lani again and collaborate with other photographers in the future!

Mother's Day at Ellie's Table

After a successful Easter Sunday Brunch at Ellie's Table, we’ve decided to do it all again! This time, it’s in honor of Mother’s Day. As a day to celebrate and spend time with the wonderful woman who raised you, there’s no better way to show your gratitude than treating her to a delicious meal. 2 Ellie’s Mother’s Day Celebration will offer customers some mouthwatering specials that are too good to refuse. We will be hosting a custom Omelet Bar and serving up Bottomless Mimosas from 7am-2pm. And of course, our everyday pastries and goods will also be added into the mix. Drop by our beachfront café to enjoy great food & drinks in a lovely setting with family & friends. There will also be a supplementary seating area in The Casino San Clemente’s beautiful West Wing & Patio of the Stars right next door.34As far as omelets go, customers will be able to make up their own concoction or they can choose from our five suggested omelet creations:
Three Cheese Omelet
Fresh cage free eggs gently whisked, cooked to perfection with garden vegetables, white cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and goat cheese.
Egg White Omelet
Farm fresh egg whites, Sonoma goat cheese, fresh herbs de Provence, wild seasonal mushrooms, vine ripe tomatoes.
Ellie’s Table Omelet
House smoked salmon, garden vegetables, avocado and crème fraiche.
Southwestern Omelet
Choice of manchaca beef, diced potatoes, Monterey Jack cheese, and a fire roasted salsa tomatillo with poblano chilies & sweet onions.
Meat Lover’s Omelet
Smoked bacon, house made maple chicken sausage, vine ripe tomatoes, white cheddar cheese and Jay’s salsa.
With the custom created omelets, customers will be to include any of the following fresh ingredients:
Seasoned Pasteurized Egg Mixture / Brown Organic Eggs in the shell / Seasoned Pasteurized Egg Whites Mixture / Shredded Jack cheese / Shredded White Cheddar Cheese / Crumbled Goat Cheese / Fresh Herbs de Provence / Wild Mushroom Mixture / Diced Vine Ripe Tomato / Garden Vegetable Mixture / Avocado / Crème Fraiche

5Omelets will be $10.50 each and Endless Mimosas will be $15.00. If you aren’t an omelet person, or you need an extra bite to fill your stomach, we will be serving up our tasty Breakfast Burritos, Homemade Cronuts, Savory Croissants, along with all our regular cafe fare and coffee drinks. We will not be taking reservations; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
