New Year’s Eve Wedding at Hangar 21 South

Elise and her bridesmaids got ready inside the bridal suite at Hangar 21 South while Aaron and his groomsmen suited up in the mezzanine. The bride and groom opted for a first touch instead of a first look so they could save their excitement for the ceremony. Once they were both ready, they met in the courtyard to do just that. Aaron stood with his back facing Elisa and she hugged him from behind. The two shared sweet memories and words of encouragement before leaving each other to rejoin their bridal parties and line up for the ceremony.

Since this was a New Year’s Eve wedding, guests arrived in the courtyard just after the sun had set which created a ceremony space lit by string lights and candles. Red, burgundy, and white roses decorated the back of the aisle and stage where Elise and Aaron would soon be standing. As soon as everyone had arrived, live piano music began playing and the wedding party made their entrances. Elise and Aaron’s first look down the aisle was everything they hoped it would be. Both the bride and groom tried their best to hold back tears, and when they were joined together on stage, everything else faded away. In front of their closest friends and family, Aaron and Elise recited vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss. Everyone cheered as the newlyweds exited the courtyard into cocktail hour.

Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts, Crab Cakes, and Chicken Jalapeno Empanadas were tray passed while the bar was mixing up Spicy Margaritas and Cosmos. The bride and groom snuck away for their flight over Orange County, and upon their return it was time for dinner. Guests checked the seating chart and headed inside.

Reception tables were decorated with fresh flowers, black candlesticks and napkins, and personalized menus at each place setting. Just as everyone had found their seats, Aaron and Elise touched down and made their grand entrance into the hangar. An uproar of cheering could be heard around the room as the bride and groom transitioned into their first dance. After, Huli Huli Chicken, Sliced Beef Brisket, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Stir Fry Vegetables were served and toasts were made. The menu was selected by the couple during their planning process with our Event Specialist, Patti. To end meal service on something sweet, the newlyweds cut into their red velvet cake and invited everyone to indulge in a slice and some Gourmet Rice Krispies Bars, Chocolate Ganache Brownies, and Old Fashioned Cookies. With the countdown to midnight just a few moments away, everyone grabbed a glass of champagne and made their way to the dance floor. As soon as the clock hit midnight, everyone yelled, “Happy New Year”, and celebrated. The evening ended with a late night snack of Fried Chicken and Waffle Bites and dance battles out on the dance floor.
