Checkered Wedding at Serra Plaza

Bernadette and Daniyal met at Mission San Juan Capistrano for their first look on the afternoon of their wedding. On their planner’s signal, Daniyal turned around to see his beautiful bride standing before him in an off-the-shoulder lace wedding dress. The couple shared sweet compliments and a warm embrace, then wandered around the venue posing for photos with their photographer, returning to Serra Plaza when they were done.

Guests signed the bride and groom’s guest book and headed into Serra Plaza’s Courtyard to take a seat for the ceremony. White floral arrangements lined the aisle and decorated the Spanish fountain at the head. Once everyone was in attendance, the wedding party made their entrances ending with Bernadette. In front of all their friends and family, Daniyal and Bernadette recited their vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss.

Black Bean Empanadas and Shrimp Ceviche were tray passed while the bar served Non-alcoholic Paloma and Pineapple Margarita for cocktail hour. Guests mixed and mingled, and the newlyweds snuck away to read personalized vows to one another in the Bridal Suite. Upon their return, everyone checked the seating chart and headed back into the Courtyard for reception.

Tables were topped with black and white details and surrounded a checkered dance floor. Bernadette and Daniyal made their grand entrance, shared their first dance, then took a seat at their head table. Everyone sat down to Ensalada Las Mesas and after toasts, Classic Filet Mignon and Zucchini Lime Chicken with Roasted Broccolini and Smashed Baby Potatoes was served. The dinner menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our event specialist, Patti. After dinner, the newlyweds cut into their white cake with cappuccino creme filling and invited everyone to indulge in our Kouign Amann Dessert Station. The evening ended with everyone out on the dance floor showing off their best moves.
