Beautiful, Modern-Glam Wedding at Hangar 21 South

Upstairs in the bridal suite at Hangar 21 South, Lexy slipped into her couture, mermaid style wedding gown with help from her mother (who just to happens to be our very own Design Consultant at Jay’s) and bridesmaids. With a quick zip and veil comb gently tucked into her hair surrounded by dazzling diamond jewel details, the bride was ready to share a first look with her original number one man, her father. Lexy glided down the stairs, lace train trailing behind her, and met her father in the hallway leading to the main hangar. Smiles filled both their faces when they saw each other for the first time that day. Hugs and sweet words of encouragement were exchanged before lining up for the ceremony just outside.

Guests arrived to a temperature check, sanitizer, and wristband station. Masks were available to guests along with “social distancing,” “elbows only” and “handshakes and hugs” wristbands so that others would know exactly what each guest was comfortable with while at the wedding. While everyone was finding their seats in the spacious, outdoor courtyard, the groom and his groomsmen and the bride and her bridesmaids took group photos to commemorate the special day together. Sean wore a black suit and tie while his groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits and black ties and each of Lexy’s bridesmaids wore beaded champagne colored dresses that sparkled when the sunlight hit them. Everyone oohed and aahed at the stunning ceremony decor that filled the courtyard. A white aisle runner bordered in gold was surrounded by ghost chairs on either side while golden metal archways decorated in eucalyptus, ivory, light pink and toffee colored roses marked the head of the aisle and the backdrop where Sean and Lexy would say their vows on stage. A live violinist put the strings to his bow and began playing music as the wedding party walked down the aisle. A momentary pause was given for the bride and guests stood from their seats. Lexy stepped out and into Sean’s view and the two of them were trying their very best to hold it together. A few tears might have escaped before reaching each other, but it was all smiles from there on out. The two read handwritten, personal vows to one another, exchanged rings, and were pronounced husband and wife. Everyone cheered as they walked out for their helicopter ride during cocktail hour.

The tarmac was decorated to the nines just like everything else. Blush toned lounges, a custom bar and vinyl wrapped dance floor were just some of the many ‘wow’ moments. The cocktail hour Poke Station was a hit and Braised Pork Belly Steamed Buns made their rounds to hungry guests. Turkey Palm Sandwiches, Thai Chicken Spring Rolls, and Radicchio Wraps were individually plated stationary hors d’oeuvres available to guests at their leisure and the bar was serving up the newlyweds signature cocktails: An Old Fashioned and Grapefruit Moscow Mule. Before long, Lexy and Sean returned from their flight over Orange County to a cheering crowd. The bride and groom made their grand entrance onto the dance floor and into their first dance as husband and wife. Right as their first dance was ending, the main hangar doors opened up revealing the most stunning wedding receptions we have ever seen. Crystal chandeliers hung with flowers from the ceiling and tables were draped in fine linens. The mother of the bride made each individual poured cement charger by hand and gold rimmed plates, glassware and flatware accompanied them to tie together the industrial glam theme. Lexy and Sean made their way to the sweetheart table that repurposed the gold floral arch from their ceremony and each guest found their assigned seat. Toasts were made and father-daughter and mother-son dances were shared. Dinner was selected from our Chambre Plated Menu and included a salad course of Ensalada Las Mesas and an entree course of Chicken Sonoma, Chipotle Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Potato Gratin Stacks, and Grilled Asparagus. Each course from the Chambre Plated Menu was brought to the corresponding guest by our professional staff. The beautiful evening concluded on the dance floor with guests showing off their best moves and the bride and groom making memories to last a lifetime.
