A Modern Black and White Wedding at Hangar 21 South

Angie and Simon met inside Hangar 21 South for their first look after getting ready at a nearby hotel. Angie was dressed in a beaded, lace a-line wedding gown and Simon in a black tuxedo. With a tap of the shoulder, Simon turned around to see his gorgeous bride. Stunned by Angie’s beauty, Simon’s face was in complete shock when he laid eyes on her. While the two were soaking in their final moments together before becoming husband and wife, their cats joined them for a purrr-fect ending to a first look.

Guests snapped Polaroid photos and signed their names for Angie and Simon’s guest book before finding their seats inside the hangar. White flowers and greenery sat next to each row of ghost chairs and decorated the modern ceremony pillars at the head of the aisle. Once everyone was seated, Simon made his walk down the aisle to kick-off the ceremony. Angie was last to make an appearance and met Simon at the mic to exchange vows. Loving words were shared, rings were exchanged, and the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife. A kiss between the newlyweds sealed the deal, and they cheered all the way out of the hangar and into cocktail hour.

Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons and Crab Cake hors d’oeuvres were available to hungry guests and the bar was serving up the bride and groom’s signature cocktails; an Old Fashioned and Greyhound. While everyone was sipping and snacking outside, inside the hangar was being flipped for the dinner reception. Tables were draped in white linen with chairs to match. Elegant black and silver flatware, black drink goblets and white plates made-up each place setting. Romantic candles and fresh floral centerpieces topped each table completing the modern design.

After cocktail hour, guests took their seats at their assigned tables and watched as Angie and Simon made their grand entrance. The couple shared their first dance, then took a seat at the sweetheart table for toasts. Friends and family shared sweet words and memories in honor of the newlyweds before dinner was served. A pre-selected menu of Tequila Lime Chicken, Tri-Tip Carvery, Tortellini with Creamy Pesto, Red Roasted Garlic Potatoes, Pear & Walnut Salad, and Green Beans was crafted by our Event Specialist, Lauren, along with Angie and Simon during their wedding planning process and served buffet style at their wedding. Guests lined up and filled their plates. The food was well-received and by the end of dinner, everyone was happily full and satisfied. The bride and groom thanked everyone for coming and celebrating with them, then invited everyone to the dancefloor for some end of the night fun. Everyone cut loose and showed off their dance moves before sending Angie and Simon off in an uproar of cheers.
