Daliya + Matt, The Loft on Pine

Future doctors Daliya + Matt Cikra tied the knot at The Loft on Pine on July 3, 2016! Their chemistry was truly (and literally!) the center of attention on this beautiful day! The lovebirds had a science themed wedding, from their unique chemistry unity ceremony, to their periodic table seating chart and their tabletop chemical elements and test tubes decor, this couple really knows how to show off their chemical bond!

Most of the decor and flowers were all beautifully crafted by the wedding party themselves, with help from Olivia Reil who was their wedding coordinator on the day. Their hair and makeup was done by Luong Lasting and the Bride’s beautiful gown was by Morilee by Madeline Gardner!

Jay’s Event Specialist Emily Anderson helped the Cikra’s assemble their menu and specialty drinks for the night. After the ceremony, guests were invited to snack on hor d’oeuvres and signature drinks created for the couple. They chose our famous Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons with bearnaise sauce, Crab Cakes with mango papaya salsa, and Chicken Empanadas served with a cilantro cream. The couple’s signature drinks for the night were Moscow Mules and Manhattans. They also had a full premium bar with our awesome mixologists on hand and a coffee station for a little pick me up… that is if the dance floor vibes by VOX DJ’s wasn’t enough!

At dinner we served our Classic Buffet with Chicken Primavera, a chicken breast stuffed with vegetables and parmesan cheese served in a champagne cream sauce. On the side we served a vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano, gourmet mashed potatoes, grilled marinated vegetables, and a Pear & Walnut Salad.

For dessert the newlyweds had the most adorable, simple wedding cake. It was a white cake with vanilla bavarian filling and a french buttercream icing. They also chose a delicious selection of cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. Flavors included white cake with coconut bavarian filling, chocolate cake with vanilla bavarian filling, carrot cake with cream cheese filling and red velvet cake with cream cheese, all iced with our decadent french buttercream icing. (As you can imagine, it was delicious!)

Stacy + Matt, The Loft on Pine

This creative couple were married on April 3, 2016 at The Loft on Pine in Long Beach, California. Stacy and Matt Barnes have waited for this day for 12 years, hence the #finallybarnes hashtag for their wedding. After attending so many traditional weddings that felt the same, they wanted to bring fun, laughter, and light to their magical wedding day. Green Apple Event Company helped them achieve this by creating a light and relaxed atmosphere, while incorporating as many whimsical touches throughout the wedding experience.

Stacy and Matt’s theme was simple, classic, and playful with a touch of rustic. They used a mix of ivories, greys and lush greens to complement perfectly with the market lit wood backdrop and stump lined aisle. Their florist, Lavender’s Flowers, arranged the perfect collection to meet Stacy’s color palette and filled the ceremony with ivory florals and luxurious greenery.

To begin their ceremony, Matt enlisted his company Rogue Creative Development to create some pre-show videos to introduce their wedding party and to also present to their guests with the biggest surprise of the night: a video of their actual first wedding… just 3 months prior, in Vegas! They just couldn’t wait to be husband and wife, and what better way to do it! They brought their entire wedding party to Vegas, married on Friday, January 15 and created a video to show on their “official” wedding day to start it off with a bang!

Before the dinner and dancing commenced, the newlyweds had all of their pastor friends play Rock, Paper, Scissors for the honor of praying before their meals!

Jay’s catered and served Tacos, Sliders and Mac and Cheese. Three delicious comfort food stations that are easy for guests to mingle, choose what they want… and also go crazy with toppings! At our Mac and Cheese Station we offered applewood smoked bacon, sundried tomatoes, crunchy onions, sliced Italian sausage and sliced mushrooms to top their cheesy goodness to their desires!

Rather than opting for one of our traditional wedding cakes, Matt and Stacy wanted to serve some of their favorite desserts to their guests. The couple chose our Dessert Station which included a collection of French Macarons, Raspberry Chocolate Decadence, Cookies, Mini Cupcakes and Lemon Squares.

The night ended with a not so traditional bouquet toss (she included all of the ladies instead of the traditional singles-only) and dancing complemented by their evenings entertainment, VOX DJS!

We wish Matt and Stacy all the best as they begin their new lives together!

Shelbie + Justin, The Loft on Pine

On January 9, 2016, Jay’s was back at The Loft on Pine for another exquisite wedding. This time, it was Shelbie and Justin who chose to tie the knot at one of our favorite venues.

With coordination by Meghan of the Green Apple Event Co., the day began with Shelbie and the bridesmaids getting ready in the upstairs Bridal Suite while the men put themselves together in the Groomsmen’s Lounge in the basement.

Justin got his first glimpse of his bride as she made her way down the main staircase against the backdrop of the classic brick walls. Of course, Chard Photographer was there to capture this and every other minute of this memorable day.

After a classic ceremony that saw the groomsmen in black suits, the bridesmaids in grey dresses and Shelbie in a gorgeous, white wedding dress, the guests made their way downstairs for cocktail hour where Jay’s Catering provided tray-passed hors d’oeuvres including Mini Filets & Wild Mushroom Wellington with Béarnaise Sauce and Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts.

Back upstairs to the 2nd floor, the reception kicked off with a first dance, toasts and dinner. Lavender's Flowers provided lush floral arrangements while Jay’s Catering Coordinator, Emily Anderson, worked with Shelbie and Justin to make sure they had the perfect meal to compliment the perfect night! Guests had a choice of Zucchini Lime Chicken or Colorado Prime Beef all served with gourmet mashed potatoes, baby vegetables and fresh baked dinner rolls.

Jay’s also provided our classic dessert station featuring a selection of French Macarons, Raspberry Chocolate Decadence, Fresh Fruit Tarts, Vanilla Bean Chocolate Eclairs and French Apple Tarts!

Finally, Shelbie and Justin danced the night away with their guests with music provided by Vox DJs. Jay’s is honored to have been included in this memorable event and we wish Shelbie and Justin all the happiness in the world as they begin their new lives together.

A Peachy Celebration: Hillary & Eric's Wedding at The Loft on Pine

As an enthusiastic vendor in the events industry, we are always on the lookout for unique and fresh weddings. Whether it’s an unusual color palettes, interesting decor ideas, or just plain different, we’re all about sharing these wonderful gems with you all. Hillary + Eric’s celebration at The Loft on Pine was one of these memorable days. The two entrusted coordinator Hallie Slade of La Boheme Events and our Event Specialist, Nickie Good, on their special day to make sure the festivities ran wonderfully with ease. 23 From getting ready with the gals to walking down the aisle, Hillary looked absolutely stunning in her strapless, sweetheart gown and braided updo. Her bridesmaids were draped in flowing, powder blue dresses, while the guys were all done up in tuxedos fit with fun socks of their choice.
46510 The space was the ideal setting for these lovebirds as they prepped for exchanging vows in front of their loved ones. While the girls dressed in bridal suite adorned with vintage mirrors and frames, the men suited up and played pool in the classy groomsmen lounge.
789 When it came time for the ceremony, Hillary was escorted down the stairs and the stretching striped runner by her father. Eric watched with endearment as his bride was glowing with pure radiance. The couple took part in ceremonial traditions and said their I do’s. Everyone cheered as the new Mr. and Mrs. made their way back up the aisle. 11141513 Guests were invited to partake in cocktail hour, while the couple documented the union with family photos. A live band played as everyone chatted and sipped on tasty libations. Then Eric serenaded his wife with a lovely tune. For hors d’oeuvres, we served up our delectable Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington with Bearnaise Sauce along with Fig, Goat Cheese and Mascarpone Tarts drizzled with Pomegranate Sauce. 16 Before the reception, everyone made their way to the beautiful love notes wall. This amazing detail was Hillary + Eric’s way of making this day personal for each one of their friends and family. Plus, the card holders and botanical decals were perfectly pretty.17 During this time, the main hall was transformed into a charming reception, full of bright accents and subtle patterns. The whole space was styled with hints of Southern prep, vibrant florals and delicate accents. 18 One of our favorite touches was the addition of peaches with tiny name banners to every place setting. That along with the gorgeous pink and orange center arrangements popped of the soft blue tablecloths. 192021 For dinner, we started off with a Pear Salad that was followed by the guests’ choice of Santorini Chicken, Balsamic Glazed Salmon Filet with Golden Raisins, or Tortellini with Creamy Pesto Sauce. While everyone ate their meals, loved ones toasted and reminisced on great times with the happy couple. 2223 The rest of the evening was filled with entertainment, dancing, delicious cake and heartfelt moments. The spectacular, tiered chocolate cake was made with a delicious Chocolate Mousse Filling and textured Buttercream Frosting.24 Congrats Hillary + Eric, we are so happy for you two. And a huge thank you to Jenny Smith & Co. for sharing these gorgeous photos from the celebration.

Mark + Leah, The Loft on Pine

Spring is at its fullest, which means were drawn to lively celebrations that have lovely pops of color. Mark + Leah’s wedding featured gorgeous hues of deep magenta & soft pink that brightened their event space and matched the enthusiasm of their family & friends. A traditional church ceremony was held at St. Marina’s before the party headed to The Loft On Pine for the rest of the evening. The happy couple asked Jay’s to celebrate with them by catering their big day. Our event specialist, Nickie Good, helped the pair plan the details of the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. 2 At the ceremony in St. Marina’s, guests anticipated the arrival of the beautiful bride. Leah wore a stunning lace and beaded gown with a long veil draped behind her. Mark went with a classic look in a slick black suit combined with a white tie. His boutonniere complimented Leah’s bouquet with matching pink roses. 3 The main décor was left to the responsibility of the church’s natural beauty with stained glass windows lining the walls. A few arrangements were placed along the alter to tie in the wedding’s atmosphere. 810 After the traditional ceremony, friends and family migrated to The Loft On Pine for a contemporary ceremony, and the rest of the evening's festivities.45 Cocktail hour kicked off with Jay’s hors d’oeuvres, including Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellington, Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts, and Thai Shrimp Spring Rolls. Jay’s also provided a bar with champagne & cider flutes to toast, and a selection of beers, wine, and soda. 67The reception took place under the whimsical, wood-paneled ceiling at The Loft On Pine. This vast arching ceiling is just one aspect that makes the venue so special. For dinner, we served our delicious Santorini Chicken and Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano along with our Grilled Marinated Vegetables, Pear & Walnut Salad, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. 12 And for a fun dessert, the couple chose our Cookies & Milk Shots to pass around to guests. 1115 Mark + Leah danced the rest of the night away with their family and friends, the perfect ending to a great day. Passover Seder at The Loft on Pine

2Last April, Jay’s had the honor of catering Ekko Church’s special Passover Seder at the lovely Loft on Pine!34Patti Robledo—our expert Event Specialist—did an amazing job putting everything together.12Shirley Han of Everly Events also did a fabulous job with the florals + design.56We fully staffed the event + provided key rentals, like the draping white linens that cascaded underneath the simple, but elegant candles for the tabletops. The design + rental choices truly complemented The Loft’s minimalistic, modern architecture.7In addition, we designed a unique Passover Seder menu for Ekko that was a big hit with the 200 church members that attended.8Dinner was comprised of Passover meal traditions, like Karpas, Matzo, Eggs, and Lamb Shank. But we also served, buffet style: Mixed Green Salad; a trio of our Turkey, Ham, and Vegetarian Palm Sandwiches; Oven Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes with Country Gravy, Green Beans Almadine, + Tortellini with Creamy Pesto. Delish!9We likewise provided refreshing Lemonade + Iced Tea, as well our Grand Coffee Station, which featured fresh Whipped Cream, Chocolate Shavings, + Dematisse Sugar Sticks among other goodies.10Guests loved the combination of our Grand Coffee Station with our Dessert Station—a perfect way to end on a sweet note!11We had such a marvelous time catering Ekko’s Passover Seder.
