Taste of Jay's: Hangar 21

On November 2nd, we hosted our first Taste of Jay’s event at Hangar 21. Over 400 brides, grooms, corporate and wedding professionals joined us for a night of great food, creative cocktails, and Helicopter Rides! 0203201114 The night began with tray passed hors d’oeuvres, a beer and wine bar, and a stunning ceremony set-up by Rogue and Fox Floral Co and Sundrop Vintage. 21 224379 The Tarmac was decked out in beautiful furniture by Classic Party Rentals and unique centerpieces by Portobello Junction. Here we showcased some of our favorite food stations including Gourmet Street Tacos, Flatbread Pizza, S’mores, and a special appearance by our favorite food truck, Mess Hall Canteen! 0661218 The second Hangar was home to more of our classic food stations including Poke, Pasta, Sliders, and a Filet Mignon Carving Station. Taste of Jay’s at The Estate on Second

Here we are at The Estate on Second for another Taste of Jay’s Event where we invite all of our future brides, grooms, event coordinators and more to taste the different flavors that Jay’s has to offer for your event!

This Taste of Jay’s was special because we teamed up with the fresh Indian taste-makers of ADYA, located at the Packing District in Anaheim, CA. We’re excited to be able to offer this new choice as part of our catering menu to bring more diverse and enticing food options!

Chef Shachi Mehra, the creative mind behind ADYA, wants to serve you fresh and flavorful Indian street food. Her contemporary spin on classics like Tandoori Chicken and her Bombay Style Sliders are just some of the interesting, delicious dishes you can choose from!

At Taste of Jay’s, Chef Mehra brought her Tangy Semolina Shells, Crab Bhel Puri, and her most delicious Pav Bhaji and Keema Pav Bombay Sliders.

As for the rest of the food options that evening, we had our most popular stations on display: Tuscan Bruschetta, Chicken, Mashed Potato & Mac and Cheese Bar, Pasta, Flatbread, Carvery, Poke, Tacos, Sliders, Hors d’oeuvres and of course a Dessert and Craft Cocktail Bar! At our dessert station we had everyone’s favorite... our prized Kouign Amann, a buttery light pastry with a crème brûlée filling that is glazed to perfection!

We want to give a special thanks to our vendor partners who brought this event together with their beautiful contributions. French Buckets Florist created a marvelous space with their gorgeous flower decorations. Sundrop Vintage provided their elegant vintage furniture and VOX DJ’s kept the music going all night long to entertain our guests!

Taste of Jay’s, The Estate on Second

Our latest Taste of Jay’s was held in our beautiful, historical venue in downtown Santa Ana, The Estate on Second. Taste of Jay’s is an event where we invite future brides and grooms, event coordinators and more to taste and sample what Jay’s Catering can offer for a wedding or event, as well as give guests a chance to explore our magical venue.

Arriving at the Taste of Jay’s, our Event Specialists greet guest to help guide their experience and answer any questions. Guests are then invited to try all of the delicious appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts from our most popular menus. The first station at the grand entrance of the Crystal Ballroom was our Tuscan Bruschetta Station where guests created their own bruschetta. With our Rosemary Olive Baguettes and so many delicious topping combinations to choose from (including Spring Pea Hummus, Caramelized Maui Onions with Roasted Garlic, Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes, White Truffle Oil and Fig Balsamic Syrup), the options were nearly endless!

Our Mashed Potato and Mac & Cheese Bar was a hit with the crowds with options like Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Mashed Potatoes and Panko crusted Mac & Cheese. Guests were able to top their dishes with delectable toppings of their choice such as Applewood Smoked Bacon, Chives, Cheese, Brown Sugar, Pecans and Butter.

Outside on the Terrace we featured our Flatbread Station and Taco Bar, where our chefs were cooking up a storm! For Tacos, we served up Pollo Asado and Al Pastor with tons of topping options, salsas and chips. Our Flatbreads are always fresh off the grill with an option of Pancetta & Fontina Cheese or Mediterranean Veggie.

We also featured some of our other most beloved food stations including Poke, BBQ Sliders, the Carvery, Chicken entrees, Paella and Pasta! (Hungry yet?) To end the night on a sweet note, we had a Donut jammed Dessert Station, featuring all of our sweet-tooth favorites including Chocolate Raspberry Decadence, Macarons, Fresh Fruit Tarts, and of course, mountains and mountains of donuts.

The Craft Cocktail Bar was the center of the party! Guests were invited to this DIY station to craft their own drinks by first choosing some delicious fruits, herbs and juices to muddle in their glasses. Our bartender then added their alcohol of choice to create a unique drink specialized for each guest.


During the evening’s tasting, we had the very talented Vox DJs spinning the latest and greatest tracks for a fun and energetic night! Our tasting events are like no other, because we always feature a handful of talented vendors such as DJs, live bands, photo booths and florists to provide inspiration for your event. From the entertainment to the seasonally themed decor, we make sure our parties leave you inspired and full.

We’re back with another “Taste of Jay’s!” This time, we held the event at The Casino San Clemente and had a great evening of food, music and fun!

What is “Taste of Jay’s” you might wonder? This is our opportunity to let our guests have the Jay’s Catering experience before their events and see exactly how our food brings people to the table!

The “Taste of Jay’s” experience begins with a Jay’s Event Specialist greeting each guest. The Event Specialist is available as a guide to answer any questions. Upon entering the venue, our guests see that we’ve created an event atmosphere complete with live music!

Of course, the centerpiece of “Taste of Jay’s” is actually getting a taste of all that amazing food! Guests freely sampled the various food stations Jay’s set up starting with the Tuscan Bruschetta Station and our signature Craft Cocktails Station.

Those stations were just the beginning. "Taste of Jay's" is meant to give our guests a real taste of what Jay's Catering has to offer. And with our Poke, Chicken, Carvery, Pasta, Mashed Potato and Mac and Cheese, Taco, Sliders and Flatbread Stations... there was a lot of food to sample! Finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't include one of the highlights of any catering event... the Dessert Station! Featuring a variety of macrons, chocolate decadence, tarts and our signature Kougin Amann, this station was the perfect way to end this perfectly delectable evening!

When deciding on food for your event, it’s important to have options. The more options you have, the more likely you are to find the selection that perfectly suits you. We have some exciting options for you to choose from, and we would love for your taste buds to jump for joy. If you weren’t able to make it to the latest Taste of Jay’s, don’t fret; we want to walk you through it, exploring the moments both sweet and savory, so no food-lover gets left behind.22Walking into the Taste of Jay’s at The Estate on Second, you’ll find yourself in The Crystal Ballroom, wonderfully decorated by Sundrop Vintage, with beautiful flowers by French Buckets, and groovin' to tunes thanks to Vox DJs.211920The first station greeting you is the Tuscan Bruschetta Station. You choose your own custom bruschetta featuring a plethora of options: Spring Pea Hummus, Saffron Tomato & Roasted Peach Confit, Caramelized Maui Onions with Roasted Garlic, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms, Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes with Asparagus, Shaved Grana Padano Cheese, White Truffle Oil, and Fig Balsamic Syrup, all placed atop your choice of Rosemary Olive Baguette or Ciabatta Bread.25To your right, a fabulous Pasta Station, featuring Tortellini with Pesto Cream Sauce and a Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano in Marinara Sauce, napped with Fontina Cheese Sauce.
To your left, the Chicken Station with four of our most loved signature chicken entrées: Zucchini Lime Chicken with Lime Chardonnay Sauce; Chicken Florentine with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce; Chicken Veronique with Champagne Cream Sauce; & Santorini Chicken with Lemon Sauce, Artichoke Hearts, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Capers, and Basil.3274Continue on to our Mashed Potato & Mac 'N Cheese Bar, choosing from Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Mashed Potatoes, and Panko Crusted Mac ‘N Cheese, with sides of Applewood Smoked Bacon, Chives, Cheese, Brown Sugar, Pecans, and Butter. Satisfy your thirst and find the perfect beverages for your guests at our Wine & Champagne Bar, Craft Cocktail Bar, and Non-Alcoholic Beverage Station. For all you sommeliers and oenophiles, the Wine & Champagne Bar will tickle your fancies, featuring De Loach Chardonnay, Merlot, & Cabernet Sauvignon; BV Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, & Pinot Noir; and Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut Sparkling Wine.

Our Craft Cocktail Bar is an interactive station that’s both fun and rewarding. You pick between a variety of fruits, juices, and aromatics, and then bring your selections to the bartender where your alcohol of choice is added, topping off your personally crafted creation.

Also, our Non-Alcoholic Beverage Station offers delightful refreshments, including Lavender Lemonade, Blood Orange Iced Tea, and Infused Water with Cucumber & Mint.789Get ready for the Carvery, where succulent Tri-Tip is served on Jay’s Famous Cheese Rolls with Charred Three Onion Sauce, Argentinean Chimichurri, and Crunchy Onions.

Another exciting stop on this taste tour is our new Poke Station, where you can dive into Pork Belly, Ahi, Hamachi, & Shrimp with a world of delicious toppings!1013Let’s take this party up to The Attic, sporting more amazing décor. Sundrop Vintage brings a truly inspiring Art Deco, vintage glam vibe that is enduring and tasteful.23242528Tacos, tacos, and more tacos! Outside on The Terrace, you’ll find the Tacos & Toppings Station with a variety of delectable taco combinations. Start with your choice of protein—Carne Asada or Carnitas—on House-Made Corn Tortillas freshly grilled on-site. Then pick your choice of nearly any topping you can think of, from Cotija Cheese Crumbles to Roasted Jalapeños & Onions, and finish it with a side of Jay's House-Made Tortilla Chips with Salsa.

The Terrace is also home to the Flatbread Station, a fast favorite with Chicken, Goat Cheese, Arugula, & Pesto Flatbread, Traditional Sausage & Pepperoni Flatbread, and a Vegetarian option with Grilled & Marinated Vegetables.1211Back inside, we’ll finish up with all those sweet treats we love so much at the Dessert Station. October Taste of Jay's at The Estate

Autumn is in the air, and that means a seasonal shift for wedding decor, details, and delicious cold weather fare. Every so often we invite future brides, grooms, and their families to step into a fully planned reception and experience what their special day could look like with Jay’s and some of our preferred vendors. This October Taste of Jay’s was held at our exclusive venue The Estate on Second in downtown Santa Ana. 2Along with showcasing certain items on our menu, we partnered with some incredible industry talent to create an enjoyable, all-encompassing evening for our guests. Our own Design + Event Production guru, Debbie Mastrionni, made sure the details of the tasting came together wonderfully. 3 4 When guests walked in the entrance, they were greeted host of tasty food stations and lovely table settings. In the Ballroom, our Chicken Entrée Station had four different selections: our Zucchini Lime Chicken with Lime Chardonnay Sauce, Santorini Chicken with Lemon Sauce, Artichoke Hearts, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Capers & Basil, Chicken Florentine with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce and Chicken Veronique with Champagne Cream Sauce. 5 The gorgeous fall-inspired arrangements around the Crystal Ballroom were designed by the lovely Sussanna Davidson of French Buckets. Her sweeping botanical pieces fit with autumn hues, artichokes, pomegranates, and more, added a natural, romantic touch to each of the settings. 6 Theresa John of Sundrop Vintage provided the elegant, vintage furniture setups around venue to fit with the evenings’ theme. 7 8Also on the first floor, we had our Pasta Station that offered our Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano in Marinara Sauce, napped with Fontina Cheese Sauce and our Tortellini with Creamy Pesto Sauce. And nearby was our Tuscan Bruschetta Bar fit with fresh and flavorful ingredients to top on freshly baked bread.9 Each station and notable space was accompanied by pretty, and informative hand-lettered sign by Nicole Solis.10 11We also hosted some tasty snacking stations for our guests, including a Mashed Potato & Mac and Cheese Bar, a Carvery Station, and a Slider Station with Roasted Kalua Pork Sliders with Maui BBQ Sauce, Apple Cabbage Slaw & Crunchy Onions on Brioche Bun and Brisket of Beef with Bleu Cheese Aioli, and Roasted Red Onions on a Brioche Roll. 12 For drinks downstairs, guests could sip or our Non-Alcoholic Beverages, like our Lavender Lemonade, Blood Orange Iced Tea, and Infused Water with Cucumber & Mint. Or, they could visit our Wine & Champagne Bar. 13 Upstairs we had our signature Tray Passed Hors D’Oeuvres: Fig, Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Tarts with Pomegranate Sauce and our Mini Beef Wellingtons with Béarnaise Sauce. 14 Guests could sit and enjoy their eats in the lovely seating area by Sundrop Vintage. The pieces fit The Attic space perfectly with unexpected, bold pops color and antique, eclectic accents. Nearby was our newest addition, the Poke Station. Here you could choose from Japanese White Rice or Country Cabbage & Sprouts mixed with BBQ Pork Belly, Ahi Poke, Hamachi Poke or shrimp. Then guests could choose between Coconut Aioli, Sriracha Aioli, or Miso Aioli before piling on a delectable assortment of toppings and sauces. 15 16 17 Also in the Attic, we had our infamous Dessert Station packed with our signature pastry, Kouign Amann alongside an assortment goodies from our Tropical Dessert Collection. These included our Pineapple Upsidedown Cakes, Tropical Fresh Fruit Tarts, Coconut Capped Bavarian Cupcakes, Pina Colada Key Lime Dessert Shots, and Bana Passion Fruit Cream Puffs. 18 19 Outside on the Terrace we included our Tacos Station with Carne Asada and Carnitas fillings to be topped all sorts of veggies, salsas, and condiments. In addition, we had our Flatbread Station with three unique options: Vegetarian with Grilled Marinated Vegetables, Chicken, Goat Cheese, Arugula & Pesto, and our Traditional Sausage & Pepperoni. 20 21 22 To top it all off, we featured our interactive Craft Cocktail Bar where guests could make a concoction with our selection of base liquors, syrups, herbs, and fruit. Once they created their sweet libation, everyone could mingle in the fresh air with a magnificent view of the city. 23 We had a blast at this fall Taste of Jay’s.
