Megan + Matt, Giracci Vineyards and Farms
The most meaningful events in someone’s life should be shared with family and friends, which is exactly why Matt + Megan surrounded themselves with loved one’s on their wedding day at Giracci Vineyards. The secluded farm venue was the perfect environment to make memories that will last a lifetime. Our Event Specialist, Nickie Good, guided this exciting day alongside the talented Amy Beck of All in the Detail Design to make sure everything went as planned. Getting ready, Megan and her bridal party started out the festivities wearing matching floral robes that perfectly tied in to the color scheme of the wedding flowers. Matt and his groomsmen didn’t have matching robes, but had an equally good time getting ready for the main event. Before the ceremony, Matt + Megan shared a beautiful first prayer together, holding hands around a tree to make sure they didn’t see each other until Megan was walking down the aisle.
The ceremony was heart-felt and filled with laughter. The pops of coral and other warm accents gave the scene a bright and romantic feel, perfectly fitting the spirit of the wedding. Loved ones watched as the couple exchanged their vows and committed themselves to a life together. Congratulatory embraces and cheers echoed throughout the vineyard after the ceremony. Next up was the cocktail hour, where guests signed an old, preserved tree trunk and grabbed a drink for the toasts to come. Giracci Red Wine was enjoyed along with Jay’s tray passed hors d’oeuvres that included our Fontina Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Sundried Tomato & Pancetta Flatbread Pizzas, Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms. After mingling for a little while, everyone found their seats and anxiously anticipated the grand entrance of the newlyweds. Matt + Megan couldn’t have looked more in love while they navigated the dance floor for their first dance as man and wife. With all the fun and dancing, it was easy to work up and appetite. Jay’s served up a delicious spread featuring our Italian Green Beans with Pancetta and Sliced Tomatoes with Buffalo Mozzarella, Chicken Rigatoni with Creamy Marinara, Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano, and Filet Mignon Carvery. Once everyone was settled and their stomachs were full, attention turned to the microphone for a line of fun-loving speeches and toasts. The reception was filled with contagious laughter and pure happiness. Before long it was time to cut the cake. Jay’s created a 2 Tier Round Marble Cake with Chocolate Bavarian Filling and Buttercream Icing. For those that wanted a different kind of sweet treat, Jay’s also set up a Classic Dessert Station with French Macarons, Chocolate Dipped Cream Puffs, Mini Coconut Capped White Bavarian Cupcakes, Chocolate Florentines, French Fruit Tarts, and Dessert Shots. As the celebration came to an end, family and friends gave the couple final congratulations. We’d like to thank Lauren Belknap Photography for all of the lovely photos and captured moments. Cheers to Matt + Megan and the wonderful future they have ahead!
"Taste of Jay's" at Giracci Vineyards & Farms
Spring is in the air and another “Taste of Jay’s” has come around. This time we held our tasting party at the scenic Giracci Vineyards and Farms. As one of our featured venue partners, Giracci was the perfect place to have a beautiful outdoor get together with some of our future brides, grooms, and their families. We prepared a special selection of our menu items to give our guests a “taste” of their prospective reception offerings. Debbie Mastrioanni headed the event to ensure all the details came together and that guests were enjoying the evening. Here’s a video recap of this “Taste of Jay’s” below:
A handful of talented vendors joined us at Giracci to give the reception a more complete setting. We blended each of our expertise to create one lovely atmosphere. Amy Beck from All in the Detail Design, Joanna Tutwiler from Queen Tut Events, Debbie Mastrioanni, and Lindsay Wiggins from Bliss Productions Event Planning and Styling were our wonderful wedding planners and designers who organized the appearance of the affair. Theresa John from Sundrop Vintage provided amazing, signature pieces for the evening’s decor. Foxtail Florals created all the gorgeous natural accents and bloom arrangements. The evening was guided by the sounds of Simply Elegant Music’s Moonlight Jazz Quartet with Norm Luckett. Guests we able to capture memorable moments in the Todd Herod’s Social Shutterbooth. The entire event was a wonderful showcase of all our vendor collaborators. We set up the floor plan to guide our guests around three distinct areas, each highlighting a specific group of food stations and design styles. To compliment our fare, Giracci served their own wine at each of the station destinations. Moving onto the Oaktree Courtyard a variety of stations were waiting. The Chicken Entrée Station included Zucchini Lime Chicken with Lime Chardonnay Sauce, Chicken Veronique with Champagne Cream Sauce, and Cabernet Chicken with Cabernet Reduction. There was also a Tuscan Bruschetta Bar that presented a Jay’s take on the timeless spread. The final station in the courtyard was the Pasta Station that provided a variety of delectable options from traditional Italian pastas to our beloved Panko Crusted Mac & Cheese. After guests enjoyed their first round of tasters, it was time to move onto the Gazebo Area. This section included the Slider Station, the Tuscan Flatbread Station and the Off-The-Grill Station. The last location in this area was a Paella Station made traditionally with Spanish Chorizo, Andouille Sausage, & Chicken in a large Paella Pan. A Sangria Station was positioned nearby to offer an array of sweet libations. The third and final location was the New Barn. Our very own Ellie’s Table had a station featuring their Kouign Amann with Crème Brulee Filling. Nearby, Giracci Vineyards held a Port Station with their Gian. The Dessert Station was piled high with a classic selection of French Macarons, Vanilla Chocolate Cream Puffs, Fresh Fruit Tarts, Chocolate Raspberry Decadence, Chocolate Delight Cupcakes, Espresso Italiano Tiramisu Cupcakes, Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes, Coconut Island Cupcakes, and Mixed Berry Crostatas. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us for this “Taste of Jays” events and all the vendors who collaborated with us. Special thank yous go out to Debbie Mastrioanni for her wonderful work on this event and Morgan Hydinger for sharing her stunning photos. We hope to see the rest of you at the next “Taste of Jays” in the coming months!
Eventful: Designing with Foxtail Florals
Ready to make your week a little bit more Eventful? Good—so are we! This week, we decided to tackle the ever-important + often confusing topic of event design. Nickie Good, our lovely Event Specialist here at Jay’s, took a few moments to chat with Corie, owner of Foxtail Florals, about the ins and outs of event design. Corie is an experienced + skilled industry professional who designs both flowers + events in their entireties. Nickie met up with her at the stunning Giracci Vineyards to sip on fine Giracci wine + ask some insightful design-related questions. Our crew joined Nickie + Corie at Giracci to get the 411 on what it’s like to design events; the process, the triumphs, the challenges, the tips, + the little known facts. Our day at Giracci started right as we entered through the winery’s splendid gates. As we drove down the driveway, old oak trees began casting shadows across the grounds. A rustic horse stable greeted us to the right, while Wishing Well Court’s magnificent gazebo hailed us from the left.
A well-kept horse-riding area marks the center of the property; apropos, since Giracci is a triple threat: Equestrian center, winery, and special event space all in one. Behind the riding arena is Giracci’s Tasting Room + Oak Tree Court, where we met up with Nickie + Corie.
In Oak Tree Court, twinkle lights are wrapped high up the oaks’ mighty branches; both full + halved wine barrels serve as chairs, set askew along the parameter of a gently bubbling fountain. While we visited during the day, it is easy to imagine Giracci alive at night, buzzing with the excitement of a wedding reception. Sweeping trees, flowers, + lush grass surround the venue’s various structures, contrasting with the summer season’s aridity. The aesthetics of the place are at once dazzling and inspiring to an imaginative Designer like Corie.
Corie’s Foxtail Florals is a couture flower + event design company that specializes in using design to make brides’ special days personal to them + their grooms. Corie is all about the details, and when it comes to making her clients’ weddings memorable, she really hits it out of the park. While Foxtail Florals deals largely in creating couture floral arrangements, Corie is also well-versed in other aspects of event design. She uses everything from linens + props to personalized dance floors + custom signage in order to send her clients’ events over the top.
